The first warm weekend and thoughts turn to essential items needed for the Summer. the first thing on my mind is a new barbecue. I've struggled with my old charcoal burner for years under the misguided belief that real outdoor cooking required an enormous amount of effort. After several glorious BBQ's at various friends where they effortlessly fire up the gas BBQ, cook a delicious meal and then wipe the BBQ clean in minutes the time has come for that long overdue upgrade. Here is one of my favourite picks that I'm contemplating for the long hot summer season.
The Beefeater Discovery 3 Burner Grill is not a cheap BBQ at 599$ but it does have the added benefit of a roaster as well as the standard flat surface and grilling areas you'd expect. It's powered by Propane LPG giving you the instant start you want for this type of barbecue. It comes with a deluxe heavy duty cast iron grill and tray and the expected heat resistant paint finish to keep it looking good over years of use.
Next I need to make sure I get my wardrobe up to speed. I'm a big fan of cargo shorts and there is no shortage of choice this year. There is plenty of choice for children, women and men and I particularly like the military look that seems very strong this year.
This year I've decided to take the plunge (no pun intended) and buy the children a small inflatable paddling pool for the back garden. Click here to find cheap pools.
A final tip for Summer shopping right now is to get yourself a mobile air conditioning unit. people usually wait until a heatwave hits and then try to buy an air conditioning unit only to find retailers are sold out and they have to buy a more expensive unit or suffer in the heat. With increasingly hot summers you will get plenty of use out of these and a far more comfortable summer awaits.
