Well, I don’t know about you but I was rather pleased with my Christmas presents this year. As well as the mandatory underwear, you receive as a male over 30; I actually got some decent gadgets that have added value to my life.
Of course if it’s socks and pants you’re after no need to look any further than Abercrombie & Fitch, still the best quality underwear that will last for years.
Here is my top 3:
1. SOCOM U.S. Fire team Bravo 2: Sony PSP
The PSP is a great handheld console but has been in need of some decent games since launch. SOCOM U.S. Fire team Bravo 2 really shows what the Sony PSP is really capable of.
Defend America and her allies through broad combat experiences – including dynamic non-linear missions, 40 deadly and authentic real world weapons, multiple terrain types, weather conditions enemy types and encounter possibilities.
The single player Campaign mode is great and has some difficulty setting levels across different scenarios but in reality it only took a few days to complete across all levels.
The real beauty of SOCOM U.S. Fire team Bravo 2 on the PSP is the Multiplayer options.
This game comes into its own once you go online and play scenarios against other real people. You are likely to get wasted by more experienced players. Therefore take time to play the individual campaigns before enjoying the online mayhem of SOCOM U.S. Fire team Bravo 2

2. Nokia 6131 –
At last a decent flip phone from Nokia. It provides nothing sensational but does what Nokia does best, a simple, stylish mobile phone that is made for ease of use. The technical spec is ok with a 1.3 mega pixel digital camera built in and a very good stereo music player, ideal for listening to your MP3 files. But it’s the good display, familiar and customisable user interface but most of all quality keypad with well spaced big buttons that I really like. Also with Quad-band functionality you can use this phone all around the world. If you do start to take advantage of the multi-media functionality, which is very good, you will definitely need to upgrade the memory storage. I personally am delighted with my Nokia 6131 and expect to keep it for some time.

3. Plantronics DSP-500 Headset
I know what you’re thinking, ‘did he really get a set of headphones for Christmas?’ The answer is yes and I admit that I choose them before they were purchased by my wife. I started using Skype and I now use it all the time for as many of my calls as I can. Anybody not using Skype? It takes 10 mins to download and is completely free for Skype to Skype calls as well as providing one of the best Instant messaging services around.
I wanted to get a better head set with a usb connection and the Plantronics DSP-500 has had rave reviews everywhere I looked. I just plugged them in and away I went, fantastic at around just $50.
